I’ve been in two minds about putting a Blog like this out, but given the current financial reports within the British media and also given that everyone else is at it, I guess it’s the norm.
First of all, we thoroughly understand that here in the UK the cost of living has sky rocketed at a record rate and whilst everyone readjusts budgets, in conjunction with record wage increases, it’s understandable that we are all looking to watch the pennies more than usual.
Like everyone, we’ve had to increase our prices in relation to rising running (utility) costs, rising supply costs and rising wages. It sucks, but regrettably theres absolutely nothing we can do about it.
However, in addition to the rising costs that are out of our control, over the course of the past few years we’ve been improving the quality of our Classic Mini interiors, which naturally also increases costs. This is in relation to the change within the Classic Mini market, to satisfy the requirements of todays Classic Mini enthusiast.
The Classic Mini market has completely shifted over the course of the past five year or so and the Classic Mini owner no longer wants the “cheapest part on the shelf”, instead, they are now demanding something that is not only top quality, but is actually better than factory original.
Essentially, as a Classic Mini parts supplier we have answered the calls from Classic Mini owners for better quality of parts and adapted our products to suit.
Unfortunately, our transformation over the past two years came to a conclusion right at the wrong time, with the introduction of a new services structure in April - which increased prices further. We have since made the decision to backtrack on some of the service structure updates and we have reduced our costs. Frustratingly, introducing our new much improved services structure right at the same time as unavoidable running, supply and wage increase costs, was simply too much of an increase all at once. We hope to reintroduce our planned services update at some point in the not too distant future.
