The Classic Mini MK3 (Onwards) was manufactured from 1969 to 2000 and can be easily identified by its internal door hinges.
We manufacture the World’s largest & most complete Classic Mini MK3 (onwards) Saloon & Clubman interior product range, for all UK built MK3 (onwards) Mini's. This allows us to very easily offer each & every item of the MK3 (onwards) Classic Mini individually, with Worldwide distribution available.
With regards to the interior, here is what you need to know:
Original Classic Mini front seats (including later style non-reclining with looped leg front seats, reclining without head rest front seats, single post headrest front seats, SPi front seats and MPi front seats) are all interchangeable, using the same fixing brackets.
This allows you (in a majority of instances) to very easily swap and/or change your original MK3 (Onwards) front seat to a different style of original front seats, if you wish.
The only original front seat that uses different fixing brackets are the early style non-reclining with vertical leg front seats and although mainly installed in MK1 & MK2 Minis, some early MK3’s were also fitted with vertical leg style non-recliners. If you wish to install early style non-reclining with vertical leg front seats into a later Mini (with looped leg brackets) you will need to switch the brackets over (and vice versa).
For reference, our standard product range front seat cover kits & seat retrims, for non-reclining front seats, are for the later types of frame only (with the looped frame legs). Plus, if you have early type non-reclining front seats (with the vertical frame legs) we are only able to offer seat retrims (meaning we would need your seats here at Optimise HQ to complete the retrim).
Some early MK3s also had a different back seat and although mainly installed in MK1 & MK2 Minis, some early MK3’s were also fitted with the metal bar (a metal bar running side-to-side on the front lip of the cushion & a metal bar running side-to-side- on the top edge of the squab) style back seat.
For reference, our standard range of back seat cover kits & seat retrims are for back seats with a squab frame (full frame) and cushion foam (without the metal bar running side-to-side on the front lip). If you have an early type back seat (metal bar style back seat) we are only able to offer a back seat retrim (meaning we would need your back seat here at Optimise HQ to complete the retrim).
All MK3 (Onwards) Minis share the same front door cards, but there are a couple of differences when it comes to the rear quarter panels.
If you are installing rear door cards (rear quarter panels) into an early MK3 (1969 to 1973) Classic Mini please let us know, the early MK3 rear door cards are a different shape (to allow for the early MK3 front seat belt mountings) and the later MK3 rear door cards will not fit.
And if you are planning on installing the original MPi rear pocket liners (that line the top of the rear pockets) please let us know, so we can add the additional fixing holes.
The only other change (that effected the interior) over the course of the MK3 (Onwards) life was the introduction of the lower C pillar strengthening, on the MK7 Mini in 1995. Please let us know if you have a MK7 (Onwards) shell, so (if applicable) we can provide you with the correct parcel shelf board and/or headlining kit (C pillar trims).
