Classic Mini Parcel Shelf Boards

This installation guide is a recommended guideline only and it is designed as a guide for fitting Optimise Automotive products.

Preparation

Your parcel should contain:
1 x parcel shelf board

Tools needed (recommended):
Pencil (or pen)
Cordless drill
4.5 drill bit
Ph2 cross-head screwdriver (or Ph2 cross-head drill bit)
7 mm socket (or an adjustable spanner)
Metal hacksaw (or an angle grinder)

Installation

  1. Install the new parcel shelf in place - it simply slides into place with a tight fit.

If you are installing speakers to the board we recommend that you install the speakers using nuts and bolts, as described below:

  1. Place the speaker in the installation location and make a mark through each of the mounting holes on to the parcel shelf.

  2. Move the speakers out the way and drill holes where you have just made marks. Use a 4.5 HSS (metal) drill bit and drill through both the parcel shelf board and the metal parcel shelf. Be extra careful when drilling on the petrol tank side of the parcel shelf.

  3. Place the pod back in the installation location and line up the the speakers mounting holes with the holes that you have just drilled.

  4. Slide the bolts through the lined up holes (we recommend using M4x40mm pan head machine screw bolts).

  5. Attach the nuts to the bolts (we recommend using M4 nuts).

If you are using the recommended nuts and bolts tighten them up using a Ph2 cross-head screwdriver (or drill bit) and a 7 mm socket (or an adjustable spanner).

  6. Cut off an excess length of the M4 bolts, using a metal hacksaw (or an angle grinder).

Repeat again to install the second speaker.
