Preparation

Your parcel should contain:
2 x speaker pods
5 x M4x40mm pan head machine screw bolts
5 x M4 nuts
5 x M4 washers
1 x L bracket

Tools needed (recommended):
Ph2 cross-head screwdriver (or a cordless drill and a Ph2 cross-head drill bit)
7 mm socket (or an adjustable spanner)
14 mm spanner (or an adjustable spanner)

Installation

If your Classic Mini is an MPi fitted with a fuse box on the driver side inner wheel arch, you will need to move this fuse box to install the driver side dash rail speaker pod. You can re-install the fuse box either behind the dash rail speaker pod (on the inner wheel arch) or (depending on the size of the fuse box) you may be able to install it on the side of the pod.

If your Classic Mini is fitted with an internal bonnet release lever please complete steps 1) to 3) below, otherwise please start at step 4).

  1. Remove the bonnet release lever and cable from the standard bracket. To do this simply loosen the nut using a 14mm spanner.

  2. Install the L bracket provided into the new bonnet release lever position, using the M4 bolt and M4 nut provided. The new bracket can be installed using a pre-existing hole on the bottom dash rail, located roughly half way between the standard bonnet release bracket and the steering column.

  3. Fit the bonnet release lever and cable to the new bracket. To do this simply slide the cable onto the bracket and tighten the nut using a 14mm spanner.

  4. Locate the two pre-existing holes on the bottom dash rail and insert the M4 bolts into the holes (from the top), allowing them to hang freely.

  5. Position the speaker pods in position (under the bottom dash rail) and insert the hanging bolts into the appropriate holes on the pods.

  6. Attach the M4 nuts to the M4 bolts. Tighten them up using a Ph2 cross-head screwdriver (or drill bit) and a 7 mm socket (or an adjustable spanner).
