Installation:

Remove your spare wheel and battery before starting installation.

I recommend relocating the number plate light wire into the centre of the boot to prevent it becoming trapped between the petrol tank cover front board and the boot lid when the boot is closed.

The wire can be routed along the boot floor towards the centre of the boot and then fed into the boot lid underneath the framework.

Installing the Back Board:

Place the back board into position.

The edge with the cut-out is the bottom edge. The board sits on the rear subframe mounting bolt heads, with the cut-out section resting over the top of the bolt heads.

The tab on the left-hand side should sit flush against the left side of the left-hand bolt head.

Correct positioning of the back board is important, as it ensures the board is correctly aligned both vertically and horizontally. If the back board is not installed correctly, the fixing plates may not line up correctly with the other panels.

Installing the Base Board:

Place your spare wheel and battery back into the boot.

Position the base board into place.

On the right-hand side, ensure the edge of the base board sits flush against the right-hand wheel arch, leaving a small gap between the base board and the petrol tank on the left-hand side.

On the left-hand side, ensure the base board is sitting on top of the standard 12" x 5.5" spare wheel.

Correct positioning of the base board against the wheel arch and spare wheel will balance the board and ensure it sits level.

Installing the Right-Hand Side Board:

Place the right-hand side board into position.

Ensure it sits on top of the base board, flush against the side support you fitted earlier, and also flush against the metal bracket located in the top rear corner.

The magnet located in the top rear corner of the board will attach to the metal bracket fitted to the top corner of the back board.

This aligns the board correctly and secures it into position. You will hear the magnets attach as the board is installed.

Installing the Left-Hand Side Board:

Place the left-hand side board into position.

Ensure it sits beside and below the base board, resting on the spare wheel, and is flush against the metal brackets located in the rear corners.

The magnets located in the top and bottom rear corners of the board will attach to the metal brackets fitted to the top and bottom corners of the back board.

This aligns the board correctly and secures it into position. You will hear the magnets attach as the board is installed.

Installing the Petrol Tank Cover Front Board:

Place the petrol tank cover front board into position.

Ensure it sits in front of the left-hand side board and fits inside the boot opening around all three edges.

The hook tape attached to the wooden brackets on the rear of the left-hand side board will attach to the carpet/loop tape on the rear of the petrol tank cover front board.

This aligns the left-hand side board and petrol tank cover front board correctly while also securing them together.

Installing the Boot Lid Cover:

I recommend using the 4.0 x 1" pan head self-tapping screws and screw cups provided to install the boot lid cover.

Locate the pre-drilled screw holes in the boot lid cover and carefully make a hole through the trimming.

Place the boot lid cover onto the inner boot lid and mark the position of each fixing hole onto the boot lid.

Remove the boot lid cover and drill the required holes using a 3.0mm HSS (metal) drill bit where marked.

Place the boot lid cover back into position and align the holes in the cover with the holes you have drilled.

Finally, using the pan head self-tapping screws and washers provided, secure the boot lid cover to the inner boot lid.

If your Mini is fitted with the factory boot alarm sensor (the panel located in the top right-hand corner of the boot opening), I recommend carefully bending it back slightly to allow for the additional thickness of the boot lid cover.
