Classic Mini Rear Pocket Trim Installation Guide

This installation guide is designed as a guide for fitting Optimise Automotive rear wheel arch covers, rear pocket covers and rear pocket liners.

Your Kit - What’s Included:

Rear wheel arch covers:

  • 1x driver side rear wheel arch cover

  • 1x passenger side rear wheel arch cover

Rear pocket covers:

  • 1x driver side rear pocket cover

  • 1x passenger side rear pocket cover

Rear pocket liners:

  • 1x driver side rear pocket liner

  • 1x passenger side rear pocket liner

Tools Needed (Recommended):

  • Clean lint free cloth

  • Grease removal cleaning agent (such as panel wipe)

  • Contact spray adhesive (high temperature resistant)

Installation - Rear Wheel Arch Covers:

Before installing your new rear wheel arch covers you will need to remove the rear seat squab, rear pocket liners, rear quarter panels, rear seat belt lower mountings and the original rear wheel arch covers.

  1. Clean the rear wheel arches using a clean lint free cloth and a grease removal cleaning agent. Allow the cleaning agent to dry and/or evaporate naturally.

  2. Using a contact spray adhesive spray glue onto the back of both wheel arch covers.

  3. Using the same spray adhesive spray glue onto both of the inner rear wheel arches, cover the entire surface of the wheel arch. Or in other words spray the glue where the covers will be stuck to the arches.

  4. Wait for the spray glue to go touch dry (tacky) before continuing.
Please Note It is vitally important that you wait for the spray glue to go touch dry before attempting to stick the covers in place. If you do not wait for the glue to be touch dry the covers will not stick correctly.

  5. Stick the covers to the wheel arches, ensuring that the seam line follows the edge of the arch.

With your new rear wheel arch covers now installed, you can reinstall the rear quarter panels, rear seat belt lower mountings, rear pocket liners and rear seat squab.

Installation - Rear Pocket Covers:

Before installing your new rear pocket covers you will need to remove your rear seat cushion, the rear floor carpet (main floor) and lower front seat belt mountings (the ones that fix to the inside of the rear pockets).

  1. Clean the rear pocket/companion bins using a clean lint free cloth and a grease removal cleaning agent. Allow the cleaning agent to dry and/or evaporate naturally.

  2. Using a contact spray adhesive spray glue onto the back of both bin covers.

  3. Using the same spray adhesive spray glue onto both of the bins, cover the entire outside surface and the top of the inside surface. Or in other words spray the glue where the covers will be stuck to the bins.

  4. Wait for the spray glue to go touch dry (tacky) before continuing.
Please Note It is vitally important that you wait for the spray glue to go touch dry before attempting to stick the covers in place. If you do not wait for the glue to be touch dry the covers will not stick correctly.

  5. Stick the covers to the bins, ensuring that the seam line follows the top edge of the bin.

With your new rear pocket covers now installed, you can reinstall the rear floor carpet (main floor), rear seat cushion and lower front seat belt mountings (the ones that fix to the inside of the rear pockets).

Installation - Rear Pocket Liners:

  1. Fold the liners 90 degrees along each of the score lines. Your liners should already be 'slightly' folded in the correct directions, simply fold them further to 90 degree angles.

  2. Fit the liners into the bottom of the rear pocket/companion bin - they simply slide into place with a tight fit. For reference, the curved corner is the front inner corner and follows the curve of the pocket wall.
