Keeping Optimise Automotive Focused.

Over the last months, I’ve tried a couple of new things with Optimise Automotive.

Gift vouchers were introduced in February, followed by Classic Mini merchandise in April. Both were ideas I enjoyed developing, but as I’ve continued to shape the business and think about where I want to take Optimise Automotive, I’ve decided to remove both from the website.

It isn't because there was anything wrong with either of them. Quite simply, I’ve realised that they don't fit as well with the direction I want Optimise Automotive to take.

Why has the merchandise been removed?

I’ve always enjoyed the design side of things, and creating some Classic Mini merchandise was a fun way of exploring that.

However, Optimise Automotive is ultimately about Classic Mini interiors.

I design and make interiors, carry out retrimming and bespoke work, develop new products and help customers create the right interior for their Mini. That's where I want my time and attention to be focused.

Rather than continuing to add products simply because I can, I’d rather keep the range focused on the things I actually specialise in.

The merchandise has therefore now been removed from the website.

Why have the gift vouchers been removed?

Gift vouchers were introduced earlier this year as a way for customers to buy towards an Optimise Automotive interior for someone else.

It was a useful idea, but again, I've decided that it isn't something I need to keep as part of the permanent product range.

It distracts from what is important and has therefore now been removed from the website.

So, why make the changes?

Optimise Automotive is a small, personal business. These days, it's essentially me — designing, making, retrimming, packing orders, answering emails and dealing with customers.

I want the website to reflect that.

I don't want to create a huge-looking product range just for the sake of having more products. I'd rather keep things focused on the work I actually do and the things I'm genuinely passionate about.
